The Gaia Foundation seeks to restore a respectful relationship with the Earth, our source of life and with each other. Through long term partnerships with local and indigenous communities, civil society groups and social movements, they are building seed, food and climate change resilience, enabling small farmers, especially women, to enhance their indigenous knowledge and seed varieties; protecting sacred lands, with legislation, policy, inter-generational learning and habitat restoration; and moving beyond extractivism, backing those at the front lines of mining struggles to defend their ecological and cultural heritage and build alternative pathways.
